What Size Air Fryer Do You Need?
Match basket capacity to your household so you are not cooking in three batches.

Air fryers are sold by basket capacity in quarts, and the right size depends mostly on how many people you cook for and what you cook.
A rough guide
- 2 to 4 quarts: one or two people, sides, reheating and frozen snacks. Small enough to leave on the counter.
- 5 to 6 quarts: two to four people. Fits a batch of wings or a few chicken thighs in one layer.
- 7 quarts and up, or dual baskets: families and anyone cooking a main and a side at the same time.
Floor area matters more than quarts
Air fryers crisp best when food sits in a single layer. A wide, square basket gives more usable space than a deep round one with the same quart rating, so compare basket dimensions if you can.
Other things worth checking
Dishwasher-safe baskets save time. Presets are handy but most people end up using temperature and time manually. Measure the space under your cabinets, since you will want to pull the basket out without hitting anything, and leave room behind for the exhaust vent.
